Educational Criteria

  • General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 100

Selection Procedure

1. Merit List Generation:

  •  The selection is primarily based on a merit list generated from the marks obtained in the 10th standard examination.
  •  Marks are calculated to an accuracy of 4 decimals.
  •  For candidates with grades, a conversion formula is applied (Grade points multiplied by 9.5).
  •  In case of a tie, preference is given based on factors like age (older candidates preferred), gender, and community category.

2. Document Verification:

  •  Shortlisted candidates will undergo a two-stage physical verification of original documents.
  • The first stage is conducted by the Verifying Authority chosen by the applicant.
  • The Engaging Authority does the second stage.

3. Provisional Engagement:

  • After successful document verification, candidates receive an offer of provisional engagement.
  • Candidates must complete pre-engagement formalities within 30 days, including a 3-day basic training.

4. Final Engagement:

  •  A final engagement order is issued after verification of documents from issuing authorities and antecedent checks.

  • Visit the official website: https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in
  • Create a new registration using a valid mobile number and email ID.
  • Each candidate can have only one registration.

Application Form Filling:

  • Log in using the registration credentials.
  • Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and other required information.
  • Select the preferred Division and give preferences for available posts.
  • Choose a Verifying Authority for document verification.

Document Upload:

  • Upload a recent photograph (JPG/JPEG format, not exceeding 50kb)
  • Upload signature (JPG/JPEG format, not exceeding 20kb)

Fee Payment:

  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 100 (if applicable) through online modes like credit/debit cards, net banking, or UPI.
  • SC/ST/PwD/Transwomen and all female candidates are exempted from the fee.

Final Submission:

  • Review all entered details carefully before final submission.
  • Take a printout of the filled application for future reference.

Application Correction Window:

  • A three-day window (August 6-8, 2024) is provided for editing/correcting the submitted application.
  • Major changes requiring fee payment will only be allowed if the additional fee is paid.
