Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualifications:
- Mechanic: 10+2 with a certificate in Mechanical trade from ITI or any other recognized technical institute with 3 years of experience.
- Electrician, Carpenter, Welder: Matriculation with a certificate from ITI or any other recognized technical institute in the respective trade with 3 years of experience or 5 years of experience if no certificate course is available.
- Fitter, Assistant Fitter, Assistant Welder, Assistant Carpenter: Matriculation with a certificate from ITI or any other recognized technical institute in the respective trade with 3 years of experience or 5 years of experience if no certificate course is available.
- Junior Technician (Mechanic): Matriculation with a certificate of Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) trade from an Industrial Training Institute or equivalent.
- Junior Technician (Tyreman-cum-Rubber Expert): Matriculation with a certificate of Tyreman/Rubber Expert trade from an Industrial Training Institute or equivalent.
- Junior Technician (Welder): Matriculation with a certificate of Welder (Gas and Electric) trade from an Industrial Training Institute or equivalent.
Age Criteria:
- Mechanic: Up to 30 years as on 01.01.2024 (relaxable for departmental candidates as per Chandigarh Administration instructions).
- Electrician, Carpenter, Welder, Fitter, Assistant Fitter, Assistant Welder, Assistant Carpenter: Up to 28 years as on 01.01.2024 (relaxable for departmental candidates as per Chandigarh Administration instructions).

Exam Pattern and Selection Procedure:
There will be a single written test (objective type multiple-choice questions) of 2 hours duration carrying 100 marks. The test will have two parts:
Part I: Numerical Ability (20 questions), English (10 questions), General Knowledge (10 questions), Elementary Computer Knowledge (10 questions)
Part II: Respective trade/category knowledge (50 questions)
The qualifying marks are 25% for SC candidates and 30% for other categories. There shall be no negative marking. In case of a tie, the candidate older in age will be considered for selection.
