APSC Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO) Recruitment 2024: Description

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO) posts under the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) and the Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL). 130 vacancies are available, with 69 posts in APDCL and 61 posts in AEGCL. Educational Criteria

i. Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent in B.Com (aggregate or Honors/Major subject), or 55% aggregate marks or equivalent for Arts or Science graduates having Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects, or 55% marks or equivalent in Mathematics/Statistics as Honors (BA/B.Sc).

ii. For departmental candidates and those belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, the minimum qualification is 50% marks in a bachelor’s degree.

iii. Candidates must possess proficiency in computer application and have a diploma certificate in computer application with a minimum duration of 3 months.

Age Criteria

The candidates should be between 21 and 38 as of 01/01/2024. The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:

i. By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e., up to 43 years.

ii. By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, i.e., up to 41 years.

iii. For Ex-Servicemen, the maximum age is 50 years for the Unreserved category, further relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

iv. For Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), 10 years of relaxation is provided, irrespective of category.

Selection Procedure

If required, the selection procedure will be notified later, followed by issuing a corrigendum/addendum. The Commission will decide the provision for selection based on the status, cadre, grade, and the number of applications received for the advertised posts or services.
